摘要 The water normally used as a coolant for the coils wound from metal tubes of an induction furnace used for firing mouldings, for example so-called green anode compositions for the aluminium industry, is replaced by a synthetic heat transfer medium, for example by a eutectic mixture of diphenyl and diphenyl oxide (commercially known under the trademarks Diphyl or Dowterm A) with the purpose of recovering the heat radiated from the heated mouldings, as well as the Joule heat produced in the induction coils, in a relatively high temperature range and in an environmentally safe manner. According to the process of the invention, either the cold heat transfer medium entering the induction coils is drawn from a heat transfer medium circuit and the hot heat transfer medium emerging from the coils is admixed to the heat transfer medium circuit, or the heat to be recovered is transferred in a suitable heat exchanger to an identical or similar heat transfer medium.
