A golf club has its weight distributed on the opposite sides of a non-vertical axis which passes through the centre of gravity of the club head in a plane which intersects the axis of the shaft above the club head in order to permit more accurate off-centre shots. Woods are provided with a curvature or roulette, both in relation to the abovementioned axis and in relation to an axis perpendicular thereto. The roller radius is increased in order to make the loft substantially uniform from the upper side to the underside.
