PURPOSE:To cut off efficiently deposits on a converter port by moving a cutting knife capable of moving back and forth to the cutting position after molten steel is tapped from the converter, cutting off deposits on the furnace port while the converter is inclined, and then moving the cutting knife back to a standby position. CONSTITUTION:Molten iron in a converter B is blown by the signal from a sequence controller of the converter operation, and the converter is inclined after the completion of blowing to tap the molten steel. The furnace port A is then moved to the lowest position to tap slag. The signal of said position is outputted from said controller, and a cutting knife 6, which is provided to the working floor 1 for the converter operation and can be moved back and forth, is moved from a standby position (x) to a cutting position (y) by the operation of a hydraulic motor, etc. (not shown in the figure). At this position (y), the leading end 28 of the cutting knife 6 is positioned on a trajectory Z of the revolving peripheral part C of the furnace port A. Then the converter B is inclined in the direction indicated by the arrow W, and deposits D on said peripheral part C is cut off by the cutting knife 6. After the converter B is returned to an upright position, the cutting knife 6 is moved back to the standby position (x) by the signal of said position. |
