PURPOSE:To measure the angle of rotation of a steering wheel securely in a short time by mounting a center position detecting member on the steering wheel at its center part and allowing it to rotate freely together with the steering wheel. CONSTITUTION:The steering wheel 1 is rotated while the vehicle is set on free rollers of the manufacture line and placed in the straight movement state. In another way, the vehicle is set on, for example, a surface plate having a flat reference surface and the steering wheel 1 is rotated until the wheels are set in the straight movement direction. In this case, the measuring instrument 10 for the angle of rotation of the steering wheel 1 rotates together with the steering wheel 1, but the boundary position 33 of a circular pipe 30 does not rotate and is invariably specified. Therefore, an indication angle varied by the rotation from an angle indicating the boundary position 23 on an angle scale plate 34 before the rotation is read directly to easily measure the angle of rotation of the steering wheel. |
