A description is given of a corrugated tube, in particular for exhaust pipes of motor vehicles, the main body of which has uncorrugated tubular connection pieces at both ends and a corrugated portion between these. Seated in the central region of the corrugated portion, in the interior of the latter, is a metallic sheath which is shaped into the internal corrugations of the corrugated tube in the interior of the corrugated tube, following the internal contours of the corrugations. The sheath consists, for example, of a braided, woven or knitted material or of a metal mesh material. This takes away the otherwise present microphonic behaviour of the corrugated tube. The sheath does not hinder the movement of the corrugated tube. It makes possible trouble-free temperature compensation, is light and inexpensive and, since it is on the inside, is protected from external influences and forces.
