PURPOSE:To perform automatically and surely the coating of a spatter adhesion preventing liquid by coating a spatter non-adhesion liquid on the surface of the welding electrode from a tank simultaneously cutting and retreating of the defective part of a tank by shear. CONSTITUTION:A shear 3 cuts the defective parts of the rear end and tip end of strips 1a and 1b after the rear end of the preceding steel strip 1a and the front end of the succeeding steel trip 1b being clamped by a supplementary clamp 2. In this case the tank 5 for a spatter adhesion preventing liquid is fitted on the tip face of the shear 3 which is freely movable back and forth along the width direction of the strip 1 and a nozzle 6 is fitted on the tank 5 toward the surface of the end part side of strips 1a and 1b of the welding electrode 4. At the same time the shear 3 retreats from the strip 1, the spatter non-adhesion liquid of the inside of the tank 5 is automatically coated from the nozzle 6 on the surface of the welding electrode 4. |
