A push-button switch is described which consists essentially of a push button and a switching element having a plurality of contact points, and in which the push button has a specific number of control areas. The control areas make it possible to switch various functions of an apparatus via only one push button of the push-button switch. The push button is supported by means of a centrally arranged support such that it can be tilted in every direction.
