Piston with special design form and piston ring fitting

A special design form and compression ring fitting are described for a piston of an internal combustion engine driven by heavy fuel. An essential characteristic of this is that only the bottom compression ring towards the power unit compartment has a gas-tight joint, whilst all the other compression rings have a non gas-tight joint and a specific form. In addition the piston, in the area of its lands between two respective compression rings has different gaps between its respective outer surface and the bearing surface of the cylinder; as a result gas accommodating capacities are created, increasing from top to bottom.
