PURPOSE:To unite firmly a foamed body and a plurality of skin materials, by molding, when a skin material is vacuum molded, an edge of the skin material into an engaging section with a shape that follows a folded section of the other skin material that has already been molded. CONSTITUTION:The first skin material of skin materials that have to be joined together is vacuum molded into a prescribed shape, whose edge part is folded back. The second skin material is vacuum molded with its edge being placed on the folded edge of the first skin material and being folded to enclose said folded edge thereby forming an engaging section. Then a foamable molding material is injected to the backs of the skin materials that are joined at the folded sections and the engaging sections and is foamed to be secured thereto. Thus regardless of the thickness, configuration, and size of the folded sections, the folded sections and the engaging sections can be engaged securely without any gap between them. Accordingly, even in the case where after skin materials are joined, a foamable molding materials is injected to the backs thereof and is foamed, the foamed material would not leak from the boundary of the joined sections to the surface side. |
