PURPOSE:To remarkably improve sealing performance and to increase electrolyte leakage resistance and storage performance by conducting secondary sealing by recrimping a positive can after preliminary discharge. CONSTITUTION:A battery is sealed by two steps of primary sealing before preliminary discharge and secondary sealing after preliminary discharge each of which is performed by crimping a positive can 6. The internal pressure produced by primary sealing is reduced by preliminary discharge, then the battery is recrimped. Decrease in battery height during storage and use of the battery is almost prevented and looseness of sealing is also prevented. Storage performance and electrolyte leakage performance are remarkably increased.
