PURPOSE:To enhance copying speed, by using timers for exactly measuring the time necessary for original processing from when the original is fed even during restoration of an optical system and starting copying action. CONSTITUTION:An original inserted through original inlet 4 of original processing unit 1 is set on contact glass 6 with conveying belt 5 driven by drive motor 8. A device is arranged for generating a copying action start signal interlocked with device 1, and two timers are provided in this. The first timer stops motor 8 when a predetermined time has elapsed from the original insertion, and the second timer produces the copying action start signal after a given time. As a result, feed of the original is started at t37, the next cycle is started at t38 when set time t2 has elapsed, and the feed of the original is finished before exposure start time t40, permitting loss time to be eliminated and speed to be enhanced. |
