摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To enable free uses utilizing the characteristics of a reverse conduction thyristor, by a method wherein a reverse conduction thyristor and a rectifying diode are connected in series and sealed in a resinous container, and the main terminal is led out of each element and out of the common part to both elements. CONSTITUTION:The rectifying diode SR is connected in series to the anode side of the reverse conduction thyristor RR, and the whole is contained in the resinous container. Terminals led outside are the cathode terminal 1 of RR, anode terminal 2 of SR, common terminal 3, and signal terminal 1G of RR. When only the terminals 1 and 2 are used and the terminal 3 is opened in this construction, the construction becomes the same as the case of a reverse block thyristor. Then, a thyristor of high withstand voltage, large current, and high speed can be obtained by utilizing the characteristics of RR. When the terminals 1 and 2 are short-circuited outside into a terminal 4 and used between the terminal 3, those elements are used similarly as in the case of a single of reverse conduction thyristor. Either case above-mentioned facilitates the increase in current by reducing the area of the diode part in RR.</p>
