PURPOSE:To increase the bonding strength between a metal piston head and an FRP skirt integrally formed with the piston head by forming a rib along the underface of a pin boss part in the lower part of the FRP skirt and fixing the rib onto the pin boss part by a stop piece. CONSTITUTION:A metal piston crown 2 consists of a piston head 5 and a skirt connection part 6 having a small diameter which is formed integrally in the lower part of the piston head 5. A proper number of ring grooves are formed onto the periphery of the piston head 5, and a pair of pin boss parts 8 are formed in the skirt connection part 6, and a skirt 3 consisting of the lamination of FRP sheet members 10 is integrally formed. In a part of the lower part of the skirt 3,a rib 3a along the undersurface 8b of the pin boss part 8 is formed. The rib 3b and the skirt side surfce 3b on a flat surface part 8a are fixed onto the pin boss part 8 by a stop piece 11 having a nearly L-figure form. Therefore, the piston crown 2 and the skirt 3 are fixed firmly. |
