PURPOSE:To utilize the sensible heat of a hot coil effectively by a method wherein a hot coil wound in a hot rolling operation is put into water in a water tank to produce hot water, then the hot water is passed through a heat exchanger to produce clean hot water, which is supplied to a line where it is required. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of hot coils 2 wound at a temperature of about 450- 700 deg.C are immersed in water in the water tank 1 to convert the water into hot water of about 90-98 deg.C. In this case, the tank 1 is closed by a cover 3. The hot water obtained in the tank 1 is fed to the heat exchanger 6 by a pump 5, and it is brought into heat exchange with fresh water to produce clean hot water. The clean hot water of about 50-100 deg.C is fed through a branch pipt 23 to process lines 24, 25, 26 where it is required, while the hot water cooled to about 30 deg.C through the heat exchange is returned to the tank 1 via a circulating pipe 7. In addition, the clean hot water is fed to the secondary heat exchanger 11, where it is heated to a temperature of about 130-300 deg.C by exhaust gases, and the thus obtained hot water is used for driving a turbine 16 to generate electric power through a generator 17. |
