PURPOSE:To enhance resistance to water, plasticizers, solvents and oils and adaptability to printing in a UV-curing type ink, by sequentially providing a specified first protective layer and a specified second protective layer on a thermal color forming layer. CONSTITUTION:The first protective layer comprising a water-soluble high molecular weight substance and a cross-linking agent or the like as main constituents and the second protective layer ae sequentially provided on a thermal color forming layer, in a thermal recording material in which a thermal color forming layer comprising an electron-donative colorless dye and an electron-acceptive compound as main constituents is provied on a base. In addition to the high molecular weight substance and the cross-linking agent used in the first protective layer, the second protective layer further comprises a fine powder of a pigment such as talc and an emulsion of a synthetic high molecular weight substance such as a polyester in combination, whereby affinity and absorptivity for a UV-curing type ink of the surface layer are enhanced, and further, slippage or distortion of the ink due to contraction at the time of curing can be alleviated. |
