Titanium compounds of the formula Ti(OX)4 or Ti((O-R2)2NR3)2, where (a) X is selected from the group comprising -R1, -R2-OH, -(R2-O)n-OH, -R2N(R3)2, and -R2-N(R2)(R3)OH; (b) R1 is a C5-C8 alkyl group, R2 is a C2-C4 alkylene group and R3 is either -CH3 or -CH2CH3; and (c) n=1-20, are catalysts for the trimerization of isocyanates to isocyanurates and for the formation of 2-oxazolidones from epoxides and isocyanates. The catalysts may also be used to produce poly(isocyanurates), poly(2-oxazolidones), poly(2-oxazolidone/isocyanurates) and polyurethanes containing isocyanurate and or 2-oxazolidone linkages from the appropriate polyfunctional feedstocks.
