A serial transmission apparatus in which a master section supervises and controls a plurality of slave sections through a serial transmission line, wherein an information transmission line for transmitting an information indicating a change in the state of the slave section through upper stage slave sections is provided between two slave sections located adjacent to each other and between the front slave section and the master section.
