<p>PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of excess sludge in large amts. by passing a mixture of activated sludge and waste water through the inside of a spiral cylinder in the form of a cylindrical helical spring. CONSTITUTION:The pitch clearance 4 of a spiral spring 3 of a cylindrical helical spring is set to a specified clearance by moving up and down a screw rod 2 by the rotation of a handle 1. Then a liquid mixture of waste water and activated sludge is charged from a waste water introducing port 5, and air is simultaneously spouted from a delivery pipe 6. The activated sludge is passed through an activated-sludge adsorption chamber 7 and the cylinder of the cylindrical helical spring 8, and aerated by the air from a spring rod pipe forced in from a compressed air inlet 12. The purified water is discharged to the outside 9 of the spiral cylinder through the pitch clearance 4. The concd. liquid, which is left at the inside of the cylindrical helical spring 8, is decomposed, digested, and discharged from a discharge port 10.</p> |
