PURPOSE:To improve braking effect due to engine braking by decelerating a car to a prescribed speed sooner than in the case of running on an even road when a coast switch is turned on during its constant speed running on a downward slope by means of a constant speed running gear. CONSTITUTION:A car is provided with a control circuit 3 for constant speed running in which a control function for constant speed running is set by turning on a set switch S2 and main switch S3, and released by turning on a brake switch S4 and a clutch switch S5. The output side of the circuit 3 is connected to an actuator 4 to adjust a throttle valve opening, and the input side of the circuit 3 is provided with a series circuit comprising a coast switch S6 working as a decelerating means to more decelerate the car running at constant speed, and an inclination switch S7 turned on when a traveling road slopes down steeper than a specified inclination. While both switches S6 and S7 are kept on, a fuel control circuit 1 works to stop fuel supply to an injector 2. |
