PURPOSE:To separate a basic amino acid at a low cost, by circulating the rear of an effluent from the first column to the similar step in repeating the combination of adsorption and elution of the basic amino acid moved one after another through plural ion exchange resin columns connected in series. CONSTITUTION:A method for repeating adsorption and elution of a basic amino acid moved in the combination through plural ion exchange resin columns (R1)- (R5) connected in series is carried out. For example, in the method for using three adsorption columns and three elution columns, columns (R1)-(R3) are connected in the adsorption step, and the rear part of an effluent from the column (R1) is not made to flow through the next column, but flow through the third column (R4) in the adsorption step in the next cycle. In the elution step, the rear part of the effluent from the column (R1) as part of the eluent for the first column (R2) in the elution step in the next cycle. Thus, the energy required for the concentration is reduced by reducing the amount of the unadsorbed solution flowing out of the final column and the amount of the washing water and amount of the eluent to enhance the basic amino acid concentration. |
