The toy has a body (12, 14) in the shape of an amphibian such as a frog. It is supported for flotation in water by a life ring float (20, 21). The body has movable appendages (22) resembling the forelegs of the amphibian as well as a mouth (16) which is openable and closeable. Springs actuate the movable appendages and mouth. An ejection tube (30) within the body supports a floatable ball (31) and is actuated to eject the ball when the mouth is opened. A one way clutch drive enables a user to wind up the spring motor.
