PURPOSE:To attain verification in a short time by constituting an optical disc controller with a storage circuit and an optical disc processor. CONSTITUTION:An optical disc controller 100 consists of a storage circuit 110 and an optical disc processor 120. The optical disc processor 120 checks a defective sector to write data at first. If a sector is defective, an address of the defective sector stored in the storage circuit 110 is read and compared with an address of a defective sector read from the optical disc device. As the result of comparison, when the addresses are coincident, the optical disc processor 120 reads the address from the storage circuit 110, locates the optical disc device to a sector on an alternate track corresponding to the defective sector and applies verification without accessing the alternate sector. |
