PURPOSE:To enable to completely perform a protective operation on a high tension generating circuit without having ambiguous elements such as time delay and the like by a method wherein a detectint coil is formed by performing a split winding or a distributed whiding, and at least the detection of the layer short of a secondary coil is performed by both end parts of the winding ragion of the primary coil. CONSTITUTION:As detecting windings 31 and 32 to be used for a protector are provided on both end parts of the winding region of the primary coil 33 of a fly- back transformer 30, the detection output of the detecting coil located close to said layer short position is reduced when a layer short is generated on a secondary coil 34. On the other hand, as the detecting output of the other detecting coil is increased, the layer short of the secondary coil 34 is accurately detected by feeding back the OR output of each detecting output to a horizontal oscillation circuit 11 as controlling voltege (VCVT), thereby enabling to detect the layer short of the secondary winding 34 and to stop the operation of a high tension generating circuit. |
