ACCESS METHOD OF OPTICAL DISC PLAYER

PURPOSE:To attain high-speed access by utilizing an accumulated elapsed time of playing started from a playing start position of a disc in addition to music number/playing elapsed time information. CONSTITUTION:When a head locating access command is given and the data area of a music number MNO to be subjected to head location is accessed first, an accumulated elapsed time ATiMEN of the playing started from the playing start position of the disc and the playing time MTiMEN of the music number is read and an object address ATiMEO is calculated from a formula ATiMEO= ATiMEN-MTiMEN. Then track numbers TNN and TNO corresponding to the ATiMEN and ATiMEO are obtained from the conversion table. Then the numbers are used and the DTNO is calculated from a formula DTNO=TNO-TNN, the track number to be shifted and the direction of track shift are recognized from the value of the DTNO and polarity to attain the track shift. As a result, the procedure above is repeated until the relation of ATiMEN ATiMEO is obtained.
