PURPOSE:A high-concentration (solid concentration of 65-75wt%) tackifier composition comprising an emulsion of an emulsion copolymer comprising an acrylate, a methacrylate and a hydrophilic monomer. CONSTITUTION:A monomer mixture comprising the following components (A)- (D) is emulsion-copolymerized: (A) 50wt% or above acrylate in which the alkyl group is of 1-12C (e.g., methyl acrylate), (B) 1-35wt% methacrylate in which the alkyl group is of 1-12C (e.g., methyl methacrylate), (C) 0.5-15wt% at least one hydrophilic monomer of formula I, II, or III (wherein R1 is H or COOH, R2 is H or CH3, and R3 is H or CH2OH), and (D) 0-20wt% other vinyl monomers (e.g., vinyl acetate, styrene or glycidyl methacrylate). |
