PURPOSE:To suppress the electrolyte of an electrolyte layer from being evaporated and diffused into the gas, extend the life of the electrolyte layer, and reduce the deterioration of the cell characteristic by containing the electrolyte in the gas fed to a cathode or an anode. CONSTITUTION:The fuel gas fed from a gas feed device 8 passes a pipeline 9 and is guided into an electrolyte stowage tank 11. The stowage tank 11 is filled with a fused electrolyte 12 made of a mixture of potassium carbonate and lithium carbonate, and the fuel gas is made bubbles in it and is fed to a fuel cell main body 16 in an electrolyte vapor saturation state or near it. Other portions than the gas feed device 8 and a drain tank 14 are heated and heat-insulated with a heater and a heat insulating material. The electrolyte condensed in the pipeline 9 is accumulated and coagulated in the drain tank 14, and the accumulated electrolyte is replaced together with the drain tank 14. Accordingly, the fused electrolyte of an electrolyte layer in the fuel cell 16 is suppressed from being evaporated and diffused into the gas from a cathode or an anode. |
