PURPOSE:To reduce the deformation of an electrode during the cell operation by providing an electron conductive reinforcement having through paths communicating between an electrolyte layer and a gas passage and an electron conductive porous body formed in the through paths as an electrode material. CONSTITUTION:An electron conductive reinforcement 9 is a honeycomblike metal structure made by mold punching, extruding, or casting and constitutes through paths 11 connecting an electrolyte layer 4a and a gas passage plate 2a. Next, an electron conductive porous body 10 containing fine nickel are formed in the through paths 11 of the metal homeycomb 9. The electron conductive porous body 10 can be produced by sintering the powder containing fine nickel in the reducing atmosphere and the vacuum atmosphere. An electrode thus produced is provided with the electron conductive reinforcement 9 in addition to the electron conductive porous body 10, thereby the deformation of the electrode due to the face pressure is reduced during the cell operation. |
