PURPOSE:To set the temperature of the slide surface of a liner to an optimum value, by a method wherein an amount of cooling water is controlled according to a defference in a deviation between the temperature of a cylinder liner and the set value of the temperature of the cylinder liner. CONSTITUTION:A temperature sensor 11 is located to the top dead center of tripping of a piston. Temperature is inputted to a comparator 12 from the temperature sensor 11 to compare the temperature with a set temperature to calculate a deviation. According to the deviation, an amount of water flowing to a cooling passage is regulated. This enables the temperature of a liner to be always automatically held at an optimum value, resulting in effective reduction of production of wear. |
