PURPOSE:To select a broadcast of a genre desired to be listened to by transmitting a ratio wave transmission signal and a prescribed signal representing the genre of the transmission signal from plural broadcast stations and detecting the coincidence between the genre stored at the reception side and the received genre. CONSTITUTION:One side carrier is modulated by a broadcast signal in the AM broadcast and the other side carrier is modulated by using a prescribed signal classified by genres. The reception side uses a bipolar rectifier to separate two signals. A code of a program signal by genre such as P1 for a music program, P2 for a pops, P3 for a classic music and P4 for a news is decided in advance between broadcast stations. A program signal of a genre desired to be listened to at the reception side, e.g., the P2 is stored in a memory, the broadcast station is searched by the automatic tuning mechanism and when a broadcast radio wave (a) is received, the wave is compared with the P2 stored in the memory, and when they are not coincident, the next broadcast station is scanned, and when the signal P2 is detected in a broadcast radio wave (b), and since it is coincident with the P2 stored in the memory and the broadcast of a broadcast station B is received. |
