The device includes a moving-back gear (1) including a rocker (4) fixed by a pin (5) to the circumference of the gear (1). The rotational movement of the latter drives the rocker together with a peg (7) into one of the 48 notches (9 to 13) of a month star (8), the depth of the various notches corresponding to the number of days in the various months. When the rocker reaches the bottom of a notch, the gear is returned to its original position. The device makes it possible to take leap years into account. <IMAGE>
