PURPOSE:To record effectively a magnetic tape face by recording and reproducing a signal having a frequency component lower than a recording frequency of a digital signal between plural tracks on which the digital signal on the magnetic tape is recorded and reproduced. CONSTITUTION:The digital signal, e.g., a PCM signal is recorded on a track 2 of the magnetic tape 1. The 2nd signal e.g., an audio signal having a frequency component lower than the recording frequency of the digital signal is recorded directly on the track 3 between the track 2 as an analog signal. Further, an auxiliary digital signal is recorded on a track 12. The signal is reproduced and recorded to the track 3 by a magnetic head 6, the head 6 is moved up and down at a tape slide part 11 effective to the analog signal recording and reproduction and the signal of the projected width is formed on the tape. Thus, the magnetic tape face is recorded effectively. |
