Manufacture of a globular polymer. The invention relates to a process for aqueous suspension polymerisation of glycidyl acrylate or methacrylate, by itself or in the presence of another monomer, with a water-soluble polymer containing monomeric units consisting of an ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid and of monomer units consisting of ethylenically unsaturated sulphonic acid, in the presence of an oil-soluble radical polymerisation promoter, at a pH of 2 to 9 and with a stirring rate of 50 to 500 rev/min. Application to the manufacture of gels for liquid phase chromatography.
