PURPOSE:To facilitate the assembly and to enhance the freedom of designing by fastening a stay of a front bumper to a reinforcement and the upper wall of an enlarged part with the use of bolts and nuts, and by leading the ambient air through a rectifying guide into an ambient air intake port of an air- conditioning unit. CONSTITUTION:An enlarged part 4 having a closed section which is enlarged downward is formed in the front part of a front side member 1 having a closed section, an reinforcement 5 is arranged in a substantially front half of the enlarged part 2 which is therefore sectioned into upper and lower parts. A stay 8 secured to the rear surface of an armature 7 in a front bumper 6 is inserted to the upper stage of the enlarged section 4 together with a socket member 9, and is fastened by a bolt and a nut 10, 11. Meanwhile, the closed section space in the front side member 1 is communicated at its rear end to an ambient air intake port 15 of an air-conditioning unit 14 through a dash panel 13. Further, the rear end part of the reinforcement 5 is curled upward so as to form a rectifying guide 5a for introducing the ambient air. Further, the enlarged part 4 is formed in its lower stage with an ambient air introducing part 12. |
