Glycerokinase and process for its preparation

The glycerokinase catalyses the reaction of glycerol with ATP to ADP and L- alpha -glycerophosphate, has a molecular weight of 72,000 +/- 7,200, an isoelectric point of 4.5 and the KM values, specificity for nucleotides, optimal pH, pH stability, effect of metal ions and thermal stability indicated in Claim 1. The enzyme is used for analytical purposes. It is obtained by cultivation of Streptomyces canus A 2408 (FERM No. 4977) and isolation of the produced enzyme from the mycelia.
