PURPOSE:To attain efficient duplicated ciphering between high-order and low-order layers by storing a ciphered message at first and returning information representing the stored location to a host to save an amount of data transfer. CONSTITUTION:The 1st ciphering means 11 of a ciphering communication equipment 2 is connected to an I/O interface IF3 of a host computer 10 of a high-order layer of a protocol, and after a message transferred from the computer 10 is ciphered, the result is fed to the 1st storage control means 12. The means 12 stores the ciphered message to a storage device 13 and its memory address is transmitted to the computer 10 through an IF3. The computer 10 adds a header to the received address according to a prescribed protocol and transfers it to the 2nd storage control means 14 through the IF4 of a low-order layer. The means 14 extracts an address from the data, extracts the ciphered message from the device 13, adds a prescribed header thereto and transmits the result to the 2nd ciphering means 15. The means 15 applies ciphering processing to the transmitted data and outputs it to a communication line 17 through a modulator-demodulator 16. |
