PURPOSE:To transmit informations on the kinds of ink doner films (IDF) automatically over the device proper side in a noncontacting manner by mounting a Hall element while facing a magnet disposed to an ink doner film (IDF) carrier. CONSTITUTION:An IDF 4 on which heat-fusing or heat-sublimating ink is applied is mounted into an IDF carrier 2. Magnets 5a-5c are fitted into a groove formed to one part of the cylindrical section of the IDF carrier 2 in proper number and a proper pattern so as to represent data, such as the kinds of the collors, size, etc. of the IDF on the basis of informations on the IDF. A substrate 7 on which Hall elements 6a-6c are arranged where corresponding to the magnets 5a-5c is installed on the recording device proper 1 side. Accordingly, outputs from the Hall elements facing sections where there are the magnets are obtained by the presence of the magnets 5a-5c from the Hall elements 6a-6c, thus discriminating the kinds of the colors, size, etc. of the IDF on the basis of these signals. |
