The analog signal generated by the measuring transformer (9) is integrated twice in succession in two integrators (1, 2), the interval which elapses until the twice integrated signal reaches a threshold value being used as the measure of the analog signal. This interval is counted using a counter (5), which is released or blocked by a threshold detector (3) and control logic (4). The threshold detector (3) and control logic (4) also simultaneously control the release or blocking and reset of the integrators (1, 2). The double integration results in simple dynamic compression without problems of drift. It is particularly suitable also for densitometers which are equipped with a micro-computer system (7). <IMAGE> |
