PURPOSE:To decrease considerably the diameter of small-diameter work rolls and to obtain an effect of roll driving on one side, rolling with different-diameter rolls or rolling at different peripheral speeds by grasping and holding the small- diameter work rolls under the pressure by reinforcing rolls. CONSTITUTION:A strip 2 is extended into an S shape between the 1st large- diameter work roll 1 and the 1st small-diameter work roll 31, between the 1st small-diameter work roll 31 and the 2nd small diameter work roll 32 and between the 2nd small-diameter roll 32 and the 2nd large-diameter work roll 4. The non-driven small-diameter work rolls are respectively independently grasped under the pressure and positioned by the reinforcing rolls 5, 6, 51, 61 from the directions different from the large-diameter work roll, i.e., from the front and rear directions of the rolls. |
