<p>PURPOSE:To display colors of high quality even in case of a large-sized and high-precision display picture by controlling the two-dimensional distribution of the light transmittance of an active matrix substrate by a filter. CONSTITUTION:Gate electrodes 31 constituting gates of transistors TRs and ITO electrodes 32 constituting one electrodes of capacitors are provided on a transparent glass substrate 30, and an SiO2 film 33 is provided on them as a gate insulating layer and a capacitor insulating layer. Display electrodes 34 used as the other electrodes of capacitors are provided on the SiO2 film 33. TRs as switching elements consist of amorphous silicon films 35 provided on the SiO2 film 33, drain electrodes 36, and source electrodes 37. Filters 50, 51, and 52 are formed with coloring layers on display electrodes 34, and thicknesses of coloring layers are varied to vary transmittances of filters 50, 51, and 52,, thus controlling the two-dimensional distribution of the light transmittance of the active matrix substrate.</p> |
