A side clamping pad for workpiece positioning on a base provided with a stop using flexible clamping elements has a retaining pin 1 partially inserted in a housing 2 and attachable thereto in a bore in the base. The retaining pin 1 has a flange 3 bearing against the housing wall and is thereby pressed against the inwardly curved edge 6 of a compression spring 5 fitted in the housing between the said base 4 and the flange. The spring force may be adjusted by means of an adjusting screw 8 in the base of the housing 2. <IMAGE>
