STRUCTURE FOR PREVENTING INTERNAL CRACK OF BILLET FOR CONTINUOUS CASTING MACHINE

PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of an internal crack in a billet by making horizontally movable the contact point between the supporting frame of a foot roll and a supporting frame for a support roll and the assembled parts of trunnious and receiving bases. CONSTITUTION:The fulcrum hole 12, vertical groove 13 and horizontal groove 14 of the supporting frame 4 for the foot roll of a casting mold are meshed with the fulcrum projection 15, vertical projection 16 and horizontal projection 17 of the supporting frame 7 for the support roll so that the contact point between said frame 4 and the frame 7 is made horizontally movable. The assembled parts of the trunnions 18, 18' and receiving bases 19, 19' supporting the frame 7 are made movable together with both ends of the frame 7 in the axial direction of the trunnions. The gap between the frames 4 and 7 arising from the thermal expansion of the device is thus straightened by the shell strength of the billet and the roll straightening force in the step part is minimized, by which the pass line is stabilized. The generation of the internal crack of the billet is thereby prevented with the simple device constitution.
