A shearing handpiece includes an outer casing enclosing a driving fork 13 pivoted intermediate its ends upon a fulcrum pin 17 which is supported at its opposite ends within the casing, a comb 15 carried upon the casing, a cutter carried upon an end portion of the driving fork, and manually adjustable means 24 for displacement of at least the end portion of the driving fork to vary the closing force applied between the cutter and the comb.
