PURPOSE: To provide a method and apparatus to spoil the thrust from a combustion gas exhausted from a gas turbine engine of aircraft when the engine operation is in ground idle. CONSTITUTION: In the ground idle condition, a secondary exhaust flap 64 of an exhaust nozzle is located so as to form a diffuser for combustion gas to keep the combustion gas in the attached condition alongside the flap 64, and thereby the thrust is spoiled. If the exhaust nozzle is well arranged, the flap 64 can be located independently partially of the primary exhaust flap 62, so that the primary 62 and secondary flaps 64 can together be installed in different positions while the engine operation is in ground idle, dry, and output intensifying.
