PURPOSE:To obtain a rotary head assembly which is reduced in the number of parts and improved in dimensional accuracy, by uniting a fixing shaft which supports a rotary cylinder by means of a fluid bearing and a fixing cylinder to one body. CONSTITUTION:A radial flange 7, thrust flange 9, and fixing shaft 18 constituting a fluid bearing are united to a fixing cylinder 17, at the outer peripheral surface of which a lead which guides the running of a tape is formed, in one body and spiral groups 19 and 20 are respectively formed on the upper and lower outer peripheries of the fixing shaft 18. While the concrete constitution of the fluid bearing is the same as those of conventional ones, the number of parts and assembling man-hour can be reduced and the structure of this rotary head assembly can be simplified, since the fixing cylinder and fixing shaft are united to one body. Moreover, in respect to the assembling accuracy, the stacking tolerance can easily be minimized. Therefore, an inexpensive and highly accurate rotary head assembly can be provided. |
