The invention relates to a pharmaceutical product for the treatment and prophylaxis of infections, espcially bacterial, viral or fungal infections, which also has activity for the respiratory tract as antitussive and antiobstructive. The invention furthermore relates to a process for the preparation of this pharmaceutical product. The object on which the invention was based was to provide a medicament which has a non-specific action against infections, coughs or obstructive airway disorders, with which the injurious side effects of the products known for these purposes do not occur, and which also lacks the contraindications of the known products. The invention relates to a pharmaceutical product for the treatment and prophylaxis of infections, coughs or obstructive airway disorders, which consists of a suspension of lecithin and/or cholesterol particles in water. The preparation process according to the invention comprises dissolving lecithin and/or cholesterol in the amount by weight which is determined by the required composition in chloroform, covering the resulting lipid solution with water, and subsequently mixing continuously until it is converted into a liquid foam which is then treated with ultrasound until the chloroform has completely evaporated. |
