PURPOSE:To obtain a simple-structure thermal head movement device capable of contacting/separating and moving back/forth the head with a single motor by motivating the head in a direction where it separates from a platen and at the same time, connecting a linear form which is wound by a motor. CONSTITUTION:A thermal head 7 is separated from a platen 1 because the former's supporting member 5 is turned clockwise by the force of a spring 35. However, if a motor 21 is driven to rotate a pulley 23 and wind a wire 22, the supporting member 5 is pulled resisting the spring 35 and contacts a stopper 36. At the same time, the head 7 is pressed against the platen 1. If the wire 22 is wound around the pulley 23, a carrier 4 moves forth and concurrently thermal transfer recording takes place. Then if a single line's data is recorded and the rotation of the motor 21 is stopped, the head 7 is separated from the platen 1 by spring force and the pulley 24 idles in a reverse direction by the action of a clutch. Consequently, wire 25 is wound up by the spring force of a backing mechanism 24 and the carrier 4 is moved back. |
