A method of refining paper in which a paper web is passed through at least one roll gap of a calender, in which a pressure is exerted on the paper web, the moisture content thereof being reduced to a final value, characterised in that the paper web is passed out of the roll gap or the last of the roll gaps with a moisture content which is above the final value of moisture content after which, to reduce the moisture content to the final value, it is subjected to a drying process by passing through a drying apparatus. |
