PURPOSE:To prevent creases of a copying paper at the fixing time by providing a flexible member on a guide plate, which guides the copy paper to the upper part of the contacting part between a pair of fixing rolls, so that the guide plate has elasticity in both sides of the front end. CONSTITUTION:A supporting member 11 consists of a thin sheet metal and is notched in both sides of the front end part to form a projecting part 12. The flexible member 13 consists of a metallic plate or a plastic sheet and has the surface coated with ''Teflon'' for preventing toner sticking. This member 13 has such rectangular shape that it covers all of the upper face of the supporting member 11 including the projecting part when it is adhered to the supporting member 11. Consequently, a copy paper P is slided on a guide plate 1 and is brought into contact with the peripheral surface of a heat roll 2 and rushes to a nip N. In this case, both sides of the front end part of the guide plate 1 are bent to smooth the copy paper P from the center toward both sides, and the guide plate 1 presses the copy paper P from the rear face simultaneously. Thus, creases of the copy paper at the fixing time are prevented. |
