PURPOSE:To perform long-time recording by dividing each track of a recording tape into N sections and recording PCM signals made by processing aural signals of each frame successively, and reproducing the PCM signals successively tracing each track N times. CONSTITUTION:A cylinder 1 and two heads 2, 3 are arranged to slant the direction of tracing of two heads to the direction of running of a video tape 4 at a specified angle and first half sections of tracks tr1, tr2,... of the video tape divided into N sections (N is natural number larger than 2) are recorded and reproduced by the A head 2. Then, sections in the latter half are recorded and reproduced by the B head 3, and tracks tr1, tr2,... are traced by the two heads 2, 3 N times in total, and the PCM signals are recorded successively on each section of each track tr1,.... At the same time, PCM signals recorded on each section are reproduced and becomes tape format. Thus, long-time recording is made possible without narrowing track pitch of the recording tape. |
