<p>PURPOSE:To obtain the titled inexpensive odorless compound which can give a molding which does not suffer deterioration of properties, by reacting an organic tetracarboxylic acid dianhydride with an organic diamine in a phenol novolak resin. CONSTITUTION:An organic tetracarboxylic acid dianhydride or its derivative is reacted with an organic diamine in a phenol novolak resin. Said novolak resin is one having a m.p. or a softening point of, usually, about 25-150 deg.C and being liquid, semisolid or solid at normal temperature. Examples of the organic tetracarboxylic acid dianhydrides include 3,3',4,4'-butanetetracarboxylic dianhydride and cyclopentanetetracarboxylic dianhydride. Examples of the organic diamines include 1,2-ethylenediamine and 4,4'-diaminodiphenyl ether.</p> |
